One of the best investments a homeowner can make when looking to add appeal and value to their home is to renovate their kitchens and bathrooms. There are a number of great, easy to do home improvement ideas that provide updated and new looks while not breaking the bank. Here are some of the top trends people are implementing in their kitchen and bath remodels today.

Glass Tile
As the market continues providing consumers with many great eco-friendly materials, tile has really taken off to new and beautiful levels. Many tiles today are made from recycled glass and come in a myriad of bright and beautiful colors. Glass tile installs similar to other varieties of tile, and can be used in a number of tiling projects whether it be shower walls and floors, and accent strip around the room, or tiled backsplash in the kitchen. Easy to install, easy to maintain, and eco-friendly, make tiling projects in the kitchen and bath a fantastic option.

Tin Ceilings
Another great new trend in kitchen and bath remodels today is actually a throwback to older times. The use of tin ceilings has recently made resurgence in popularity due to both its unique look and ease of install. Tin ceiling are not as cheap per se as paint and stucco, but they are by no means the most expensive method of finishing a ceiling either. These come in a variety of metal or painted looks as well to either match or compliment your other metal fixtures in the rooms such as faucets, cabinetry hardware and sinks.  In addition, for those looking to save money while still maintaining this look, there are also faux tin ceiling tiles which can be painted to match any room. Still easy to install, these faux tiles provide the look of a tin ceiling at a fraction of the cost.

New Hardware
In many instances, the cabinetry of these rooms are fine, so simply by giving them a good cleaning and changing out the hardware on each door/drawer, cabinets will look refreshed and new for under $100. Most hardware comes in a plethora of metal finishes, colors, and designs and most kitchens can be have all new hardware installed relatively cheaply.
